Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
Visiting Casa Amor offers the opportunity to experience orphan care with No Longer and its local Dominican church partners in Santo Domingo. We are currently planning four possible trips for 2017.
On a trip to Casa Amor with No Longer, you will spend time seeing our ministry model in action. Our local church partner has a cultural understanding we will never have, and we believe supporting their decisions and following their lead at Casa Amor is the best way to minister to the orphans. We truly have a sense of humility and appreciation for all the church does for Casa Amor, and we want to collaborate with them to ensure physical needs are being met as they meet the orphans’ spiritual and emotional needs. The majority of the trip consists of spending time with the children and making new friends. It is more about being than doing. This is the perfect trip for families with children!

“The greatest business of the church is prayer. And the greatest need of a needy world is a praying church.” – Eric Alexander
Praying for Casa Amor, the orphans, the staff and the local church is always appropriate, even when specific needs aren’t known.
Broaden your prays to include the orphan crisis around the world and those working on the front lines to prevent orphans and keep families together.
Be a Voice
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9
The easiest way to speak up for orphans and Casa Amor is through sharing what you know with your circle of friends. Social media is an obvious way to accomplish this goal! You share with your friends, they share with their friends and before you know it, the word is out about No Longer and what is happening in the Dominican Republic.
Every person on earth has God-given talents and passions. Why not use yours to be a voice for orphans? Whether you know it or not, you have everything you need to spread the word about the orphan crisis and Casa Amor. People ask us often what ways they can help us support and meet the basic needs of orphans. We wish it were possible to take weekly trips to visit Casa Amor, but that is unrealistic and would be disruptive to the daily routine of the children. Since this is the case, we encourage people to get creative with their talents and passions to help us raise funds and, just as important, awareness for orphans. Host a party, sell something you create, set up a lemonade stand! If you have children, get them involved!
